Himachal Pradesh landslide: 10 dead, many trapped in Kinnaur
In an unfortunate landslide in the northern hilly state, landslide and shooting of stones occurred at Chaura village at NH 5 in Nigulsari of Chicar tehsil in Kinnaur district around noon. According to officials from Kinnaur district, 3 small vehicles and 1 truck have yet been recovered that were caught in the landslide, but 1 HRTC bus and an SUV are still untraceable.

Parliament passes bill to allow states to make their OBC lists
Rajya Sabha approves the bill to restore the states the power to have their own OBC lists for jobs and educational institutes. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar said after the implementation of the bill, there are about 671 communities across the nation that stand a chance to reap benefits.

While he denies touching anyone inappropriately, he is apologetic for his “playful” behaviour that might have offended some women. Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodiya acquitted in alleged assault case
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia were acquitted by a Delhi court over the 2018 alleged assault over the former Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. 9 MLAs from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have also been cleared of any charges by the special court.

Countdown fro GISAT-1 Earth observation started- ISRO
Indian space research organisation (ISRO) announced that the countdown for the launch of India's “eye in the sky” GISAT 1 has already started. This launch is set to be ISRO’s 2nd launch after its successful Brazil’s earth observation satellite Amazonia-1 and 18 co-passenger satellites early in the year. GISAT 1’s launch was postponed from May to August due to the pandemic.

Uttar Pradesh introduces partial relaxation on weekend lockdowns
In an effort to bring back normalcy in the state, the BJP led UP government relaxed the two-day weekly closure of businesses and shops to improve as a sign of covid-19 ease in the state. From this weekend, the state will observe relaxation on Saturdays, with businesses being allowed to be open from 6 am-10 PM. However, full lockdown will be observed on Sundays.

Stuart Broad ruled out for Test series against India
The English seamer Start Board has been ruled out for the remaining 4 test matches against India due to a tear revealed in an MRI scan, missing his 150th test.
