Chandrayaan-2 orbiter detects water molecules on the moon
Chandrayaan-2s orbital has detected the “unambiguous presence of hydroxyl and water molecules” on the moon's surface. Although Chandrayaan-2 landed on September 7 2020, its orbiter still sends important data to Indian researchers via its predecessor Chandrayaan-1. “The initial data analysis from IIRS clearly demonstrates the presence of widespread lunar hydration and unambiguous detection of OH and H2O signatures on the Moon between 29 degrees north and 62 degrees north latitude,”-said the researchers.

ISRO launch of EOS-03 failed
Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) failed to successfully launch India’s observation satellite EOS-03 into orbit, due to a technical anomaly that caused a problem in the ignition of a GSLV rocket’s cryogenic upper stage. After the second stage, Mission Control announced that the "mission could not be accomplished fully due to performance anomaly".

Amarinder Singh meets PM, urges to repeal farmer laws
Punjab CM Amarinder Singh urged PM Modi to immediately take steps to repeal the controversial farm laws that have been causing unrest within the capital. The Punjab CM submitted 2 separate letters stating immediate review and revocation of the 3 fam laws which aim to change the primary market ecosystem in the country. According to him, the centre should explore solutions that end agitation and help the economic activities in Punjab.

Marburg virus in Africa, Ebola’s cousin
Guinea confirmed the first recorded death due to the Marburg virus in West Africa. Although this virus is very different from Sars-CoV-2, Marburg is touted as a cousin of Ebola. According to WHO, the virus spreads due to the exchange of bodily fluids, and the disease is found in humans with prolonged exposures to mines or caves inhabited by Rousettus bat colonies.

IRCTC announces FY Q1 profits, stock split possible
For FY 2021-22, IRCTC announced Q1 profits as INR 82.52 crore, corresponding to last year’s INR 24.6 crore loss. The shares of the company recorded a high of INR 2727 on BSE after the announcement. The market now awaits the hunted stock split of 5:1, if approved by the Railway Ministry.

Sensex, NIFTY records closing high
Sensex and NIFTY50 bounced back in a similar fashion as yesterday after intraday lows in mid-cap and small-cap equities, with the small-cap index falling 1% at closing.
