Air India flight to Kabul can’t operate as airspace shut down
As chaos prevails in the capital city of Afghanistan after the Taliban took over from the democratically elected government, it is learned that the evacuation process via commercial flights will be on a halt. Afghanistan closed its airspace for all commercial flights. "There will be no commercial flights from Hamid Karzai Airport to prevent looting and plundering," the Kabul Airport authority said.

No cut in excise duty on petrol and diesel for now
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that there will be no cut in excise duty on fuel as of now. Also, the previous UPA government had reduced fuel prices by issuing Oil Bonds of INR 1.44 lakh crore. "Due to Oil Bonds, the burden has come to our government, that's why we are unable to reduce prices of petrol and diesel," she added.

Afghan military plane crashed in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is one of the many countries that share a border with land-locked Afghanistan. "The military plane illegally crossed the border of Uzbekistan. An investigation is underway," ministry spokesman Bakhrom Zulfikarov said.
