Zerodha has launched an initiative to encourage its employees to get fitter and healthier. Over a period of 12 months, employees at the organisation will be encouraged to transform their lifestyle and will be rewarded for the same. To increase participation, everyone who attains their goal will receive 1-month's salary as bonus and 1 lucky draw worth INR 10 lakhs.

Ed Asner, Emmy-winning star Of Up, dies at 91
US television actor Ed Asner, winner of a record seven Emmy awards, has died at age 91. His publicist said that he died of natural causes. Asner won himself a new generation of fans with his portrayal of a tough guy with a heart of gold: widower Carl Fredericksen, in the 2009 animated movie 'Up', which was nominated for the Oscar for best picture.

HP completes 100% vaccination of adults with first dose
Himachal Pradesh became the first state in the country to completely administer the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for the 18-plus age group. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh's COVID-19 tally increased to 2,13,122 on Saturday with 209 fresh cases, while the death toll climbed to 3,575, as 6 more people succumbed to the disease.

U.S. carries out airstrike in Kabul
A U.S. drone struck a vehicle packed with explosives in a residential area of Kabul on Sunday. The Kabul airstrike came 3 days after an Islamic State suicide bombing at the city’s airport killed 13 American troops and nearly 200 Afghans. The U.S. then retaliated with another drone strike against an alleged Islamic State planner in Nangarhar.

COVID-19 is a vascular disease, not respiratory, claims study
The study, led by the University of California-San Diego, could explain blood clots in some COVID patients, and other issues like "COVID feet", which are not typical symptoms of a respiratory illness. For the study, the team created a pseudovirus, which only had the S protein but not the rest of the virus, to show in the lab that this protein is enough by itself to cause the disease.

August rains go from deficit to excess to deficit
August has been a month of extremes for Delhi. Data from the IMD for the 29 days of August so far shows that from having a monthly rain deficit of 60%, the city received 11% surplus rain before returning to an 11% deficit as of Sunday. But so far, the city has received just nine rainy days (rainfall above 0.16mm) this month, lower than the usual for August.

Bharti Airtel will not shy away from tariff hikes: Sunil Mittal
Addressing an investor call, a day after the company announced raising up to INR 21,000 crore through a rights issue, Mittal said that Airtel has taken small steps towards increasing prices and this has been received well by the customers. He even mentioned that the rollout of 5G services is likely to begin in the country in the second half of 2022.

US Open 2021: Last Grand Slam of the year begins today!
The 141st edition of the US Open kicks off today in New York. It will be the first time in over 25 years that Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Serena Williams will be missing a grand slam. Dominic Thiem, last time's men's champion, will also be absent. This leaves the door open for Novak Djokovic to win his 4th US Open title, a record 21st grand slam victory, and complete a calendar-year grand slam.
