Mumbai local trains to resume for fully-vaccinated passengers
In a bid to provide relief to Mumbai, the general public will be allowed to board local trains from August 15, however, on the condition that it would be allowed for only those individuals who have completed 14 days after getting fully vaccinated. This will benefit around 19 lakh people in Mumbai.

Covaxin, Covishield Mix can give positive result
The Indian Council of Medical Research has revealed that a mix of Covishield and Covaxin, the two main vaccines of India's Covid vaccination programme, can actually yield better results.The finding also suggests that immunization with a combination of two different platforms - an adenovirus vector platform-based vaccine (Covishield) followed by an inactivated whole virus vaccine (Covaxin) was not only safe but also elicited better immunogenicity.

Delhi implements cooler coded alert levels to fight Covid
The colour-coded Covid-19 plan enlists separate sets of measures based on positivity rate, active cases and hospitalisations, classifying them under Yellow, Amber, Orange and Red alerts. Under every alert, educational institutions, cinema halls, banquet halls, auditoriums, salons, spas, gymnasiums, yoga centres, and entertainment parks will remain shut. Religious places will be allowed to open but devotees would not be permitted to visit them.No gathering will be allowed if any alert is in force. Wedding ceremonies and funerals will be allowed under every alert but the number of people attending will be capped.

Delhi schools to partially open for classes 10, 12 from tomorrow
Schools will partially reopen for Class 10 and 12 students in Delhi from August 9. Students can visit their schools for admission-related work, including counselling, guidance and practical activities related to board exams. The DDMA order, however, specified that schools, coaching centres and colleges will remain closed for teaching purposes.

Oyo shortlists investment banks for USD $1.2 billion
SoftBank-backed Oyo Hotels & Rooms has shortlisted investment banks JP Morgan, Kotak Mahindra Capital and Citi for its initial public offering in India. The three investment banks were taken on board recently. The work on the initial public offering has started and the company is leaning towards a debut in the domestic market but has kept its options open.

ITBP inducts women officers in combat for first time
For the first time, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) inducted women officers in combat on Sunday. Two women, Prakriti and Diksha, joined the ITBP as combatised officers after completing their training at the academy in Mussoorie. The passing-out parade was held at the academy on Sunday and reviewed by Uttarakhand Chief Minister. A total of 53 officers passed out from the ITBP officers' training academy.
