These Indian states and UTs have reported Omicron variant so far

In India, a total of 21 instances of COVID-19 variant Omicron have been confirmed. While only one case has been recorded in Delhi, Rajasthan has confirmed 9 cases, and 8 people tested positive in Maharashtra with the new variant of COVID-19. It's worth noting that Karnataka was the first state to confirm the Omicron cases, followed by one case in Gujarat.

On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that India is developing indigenous technology to combat the rising menace of drones on the country's borders and that it will soon be accessible to security personnel. Shah announced, "To meet the threat of drones, the BSF, the NSG, and the DRDO are together working on an anti-drone defense system."

32 startups in the nation have spent about 3,000 crore rupees – or USD 440 million in the past year to buy back employee stock options (ESOP). Furthermore, huge fundraising efforts throughout the year have enabled them to announce generous buybacks. One out of every three firms that announced ESOP buybacks became unicorns this year.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed on Monday that 61 firms raised a total of INR 52,759 crore through IPOs this fiscal, which is more than the cash collected through this method in the previous fiscal year. 34 of the 61 enterprises that entered the market until October of the current fiscal year were Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The first of the 80% indigenous four large survey vessels, 'Sandhayak,' was launched by the Indian Navy in Kolkata on Sunday by the Chief Guest at the event, Pushpa Bhatt, spouse of Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt. These survey ships will conduct full-scale coastal and deep-water hydrographic surveys of ports and harbours and determine navigational channels and routes.

As it deteriorated into a low-pressure region today, the remnants of Cyclone Jawad are poised to hit portions of Northeast India. According to the India Meteorological Department, a low-pressure region has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and the surrounding West Bengal-Bangladesh coast on Monday. It is expected to continue to rain over eastern and northeast India.

A voice vote in the Lok Sabha passed the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (Amendment) Bill, 2021 on December 6. The Bill will provide the status of "institution of national importance" to six new national institutes of pharmaceutical education and research at Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Hajipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Raebareli.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed the parliament that a Special Investigation Team had been formed to probe the incident and submit the report in 30 days. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi blamed "inaccurate intelligence" for the "black day" in Nagaland's history. "The question on everyone's mind is that how come a group of unarmed civilians were not distinguished from hardcore militants," he said.

85% of eligible Indian population inoculated with 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine

The Union Health Ministry has informed that India administered more than 71 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses on Day 325 of the vaccination today. It takes the cumulative vaccination number to over 128.66 crores. It means more than 85% eligible Indian population has been inoculated with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
