H.U.L. eliminates the use of coal in all of its activities
Hindustan Unilever Limited (H.U.L.) has phased out coal in its operations in favour of greener alternatives such as biomass and biodiesel. To support this, the firm has cooperated with biomass providers and local farmers to secure a sustainable supply of green fuel and implemented the required improvements in its coal-fired boilers for the renewable shift.

Kerala and Maharashtra accounts for 55% of India's daily COVID-19 cases
The Joint Secretary of the Union Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal, informed that Kerala and Maharashtra account for 55% of the daily COVID-19 cases reported. According to the Union Health Ministry data, the active cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra stand at 11,062, while the number of active cases in Kerala is at 44,778 as of December 2.Â

Canada votes on a bill to make conversion therapy illegal
Lawmakers in Canada have unanimously voted to ban conversion therapy, a forced attempt to change a person's sexual orientation. The bill will criminalize such an action which will be punishable by up to five years in prison if one tries to put anyone through conversion therapy. The bill is yet to be passed by Canada's Senate.Â

SpaceX successfully launches Starlink satellites and BlackSky spacecraft into orbitÂ
The Elon Musk-led company confirmed that SpaceX's Falcon 9 launch vehicle rocket has successfully launched 48 new Starlink satellites and 2 BlackSky spacecraft into orbit. The Falcon 9 was launched at 6:12 pm E.S.T. from SLC-40 in Florida.Â

Reinfections are 3 times more likely with Omicron than with Delta: Study
According to preliminary research released Thursday by South African scientists, the Omicron variety is three times more likely to induce reinfections than the Delta or Beta variants. There were 35,670 possible reinfections among the 2.8 million people who tested positive till November 27. If two cases tested positive 90 days apart, they were deemed reinfections.

Maruti Suzuki and Audi announce a price hike
One of the country's largest car manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki, said that it would increase the prices of its cars due to the rise in various input and operational costs. The new rates are not disclosed yet and will be out next month. On the same note, Audi has announced a price hike of 3% on its entire range. A few other car companies might also announce a price increase in the next few days.

Freshworks' market worth falls by USD 5.45 billion in one month
Freshworks Inc, which temporarily surpassed Zendesk Inc in market capitalization roughly a month ago, has fallen by about 30%. On November 2, the firm reached an intraday high of USD 53.35 per share, valuing it USD 13.56 billion. However, as of December 1, the stock had plunged to USD 35.22, reducing its market valuation by USD 5.45 billion.
