Flying car with BMW engine completes flight
A flying card by AirCar has completed an inter-city test flight for the first time. The car flew between two international airports in Nitra and Bratislava in Slovakia on June 28 and took 35 minutes to cover the distance. The flying car comes with a 160 hp BMW engine, a fixed propeller and a ballistic parachute and is capable of flying 1,000 km at an altitude of 8,200 ft. It can fly at a speed of 170 kmph.

Chinese President Xi Jinping pledges 'reunification' with Taiwan on party's birthday
Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged on Thursday to complete "reunification" with self-ruled Taiwan and vowed to "smash" any attempts at formal independence for the island, taking a tough line on the 100th birthday of the ruling Communist Party.
China considers democratically-ruled Taiwan as its own territory, and under Xi has stepped up efforts to assert its sovereignty claims, including regularly sending fighter jets and bombers close to the island.

Govt panel against trial of Covavax on children
An expert panel constituted by the government has recommended against granting permission to the Serum Institute of India (SII) to conduct phase two and three clinical trials of Covavax COVID-19 vaccine on children aged between 2-17 years, said sources on Thursday.

Delta variant to become dominant strain of COVID-19: WHO
The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the Delta variant of COVID-19 is now present in nearly 100 countries as per conservative estimates, and warned that in the coming months the highly transmissible strain will become the dominant variant of the coronavirus globally.
India's Covaxin, developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research, effectively neutralises both Alpha and Delta variants of coronavirus, the US National Institute of Health has said.

If you invoke US copyright act, then be cognisant of Indian laws as well: Prasad on Twitter row
Calling for accountability of big social media companies, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Wednesday, said Twitter invoked a US copyright act to block his account but it should also be cognisant of the law in India where it is operating and earning money.
Speaking at the India Global Forum, the minister said that last week Twitter blocked his account for an hour on a complaint made four years ago under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of the US.
