Brazil suspends Bharat Biotech's Covaxin clinical trials
Bharat Biotech announced the cancellation of the MoU it signed with Precisa Medicamentos and Envixia Pharmaceuticals LL.C for its Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin for the Brazilian market. The termination of the pact comes after the deal with the Brazilian government for the supply of 20 million doses of the vaccine landed in controversy and attracted investigation by authorities in that country.

Torrential rains in Goa creates chaos

India extends help to Indonesia amid rising Covid-19 cases
India has dispatched a naval ship with 300 oxygen concentrators and 100 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen to Indonesia, which is reeling under a wave of Covid-19 infections fuelled by the delta variant. “India stands with its partners in the fight against Covid," the Indian foreign minister said.

Further relaxations in the national capital announced
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority said that from July 26, Delhi Metro will run at full capacity and cinema halls and theatres in the city will be allowed to reopen at 50% capacity. Bars will also be allowed to reopen with 50% of the seating capacity. All shops will be permitted to function on all days of the week without any distinction of essential and non-essential goods between 10 am and 8 pm.

Uber’s stakes in Zomato now worth a billion dollars
The market value of Uber’s stake in the newly-listed company Zomato has surged to a whopping ₹9,000 crore ($1.2 billion) without investing a single penny in the food aggregator business. It’s 9.19% shareholding was a result of Zomato’s $350 million acquisition of UberEats India business back in 2020.
