Mithali Raj became the leading run-getter in women's international cricket, going past Charlotte Edwards' tally of 10,273 runs. Raj and Edwards are the only players to scale the 10,000-run mark in women's international cricket.
Raj is the only player with a batting average over 50 among the top ten run-getters in the ODI format.

Drones banned in Srinagar
A week after a drone attack at an Air Force base in Jammu, authorities in Srinagar, on Sunday, banned the sale, possession and use of such unmanned aerial vehicles in the city. Earlier, authorities in the border districts of Rajouri and Kathua in the Jammu region had put curbs on the use of drones and other UAVs in the wake of the terror attack last Sunday.

12 BJP MLAs suspended from Maharashtra assembly for one year
Twelve BJP MLAs have been suspended from the Maharashtra Assembly for one year for ‘abusing’ and ‘misbehaving’ with the presiding officer in chair, both inside and outside the Assembly.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anil Parab presented a resolution to suspend the MLAs and the House passed it on majority vote. The BJP, while boycotting the House, termed it an act to suppress its voice and an attempt to bring down the number of the Opposition.

Hindu-Muslim unity misleading: RSS chief
Asserting that the DNA of all Indians is the same, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on July 4 urged Muslims to not get "trapped in the cycle of fear" that Islam is in danger in India.
"If a Hindu says that no Muslim should live here, then the person is not Hindu. Cow is a holy animal but the people who are lynching others are going against Hindutva. Law should take its own course against them without any partiality," Bhagwat further added.

Rafale deal: CPI(M) joins Congress call for JPC probe

Taliban captures several districts in Afghanistan
The Taliban's march through northern Afghanistan gained momentum overnight with the capture of several districts from fleeing Afghan forces, several hundred of whom fled across the border into Tajikistan, officials said on Sunday.
More than 300 Afghan military personnel crossed from Afghanistan's Badakhshan province as Taliban fighters advanced towards the border, Tajikistan's State Committee for National Security said in a statement.

Philippine Air Force plane crash death toll rises to 50
Fifty people were killed when a Philippine Air Force plane crashed in the southern Philippines on Sunday, the country's worst military air disaster in decades. The C-130 military plane was transporting troops from Cagayan de Oro, in Mindanao, to Sulu province when it missed the runway on the island of Jolo.
