CBSE divides 2021-22 academic year into two terms
CBSE announced that the academic session 2021-22 of classes 10 and 12 will be divided into 2 terms with approx 50% syllabus in each term. It further said that this has been done to increase the probability of having a Board-conducted classes X and XII examinations at the end of the academic session.

England Cricket team to isolate after Covid outbreak, new team formed
Three players and four members of the team management tested positive for coronavirus following Sunday’s final ODI against Sri Lanka in Bristol. All members of the camp were deemed close contacts and are now self-isolating for 10 days. However, the England & Wales Cricket Board has moved quickly to ensure the series will go ahead by forming a new team which will be led by Ben Stokes.

Domestic flight capacity increases up to 65%
The ministry of civil aviation (MoCA) increased the capacity of domestic flights to 65% from 50%. The amendment has been made owing to the increasing passengers’ demand for domestic air travel, stated the aviation ministry.

Ramesh Bais, Governor of Tripura is transferred and appointed as Governor of Jharkhand
Thaawarchand Gehlot, who currently serves as Cabinet Minister, has been appointed as Governor of Karnataka
Bandaru Dattatraya, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as Governor of Haryana.
Visakhapatnam MP Hari Babu Kambhapati has been appointed as Governor of Mizoram in place of PS Sreedharan Pillai, who was transferred to Goa.
Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel has been appointed as Governor of Madhya Pradesh

Mary Kom, Manpreet and Bajrang Punia to be India's flag-bearers at Olympics opening ceremony
Indian Olympic Association have announced that 6-time world champion boxer M C Mary Kom and men's hockey team skipper Manpreet Singh will be India's flag bearers at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics. IOA also revealed that wrestler Bajrang Punia will be the flag bearer at the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Games on August 8.

SC refuses to intervene against Odisha order restricting Jagannath Rath Yatra to Puri
A bench headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana said that it would not interfere with the directions passed by the state government under the Disaster Management Act. The Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri is an annual ritual and this time, it is scheduled for July 12. The state has allowed rath yatra only at Jagannath Puri.
