ED summons Manish Malhotra, Ritu Kumar and Sabyasachi, in money laundering case
The Enforcement Directorate has summoned top fashion designers Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra and Ritu Kumar for questioning in connection with its money laundering probe into the affairs of Sukhpal Singh Khaira, former leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly. Khaira is under investigation for alleged drug smuggling and a fake passport racket.
“We have information that Khaira paid money to the tune of several lakh of rupees to the three designers in cash in 2018-19. We want to question them about these transactions, ” an ED official said.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), on Wednesday, said it has handed over seized assets worth INR 9,371 crore belonging to the fugitive businessmen Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi to state-run banks to realise the losses on account of the fraud committed against them.

California: DNA of Subway’s tuna sandwich finds no meat in it!
Controversy on Subway’s Tuna has been ongoing since January as a class action lawsuit was filed in California against the sandwich shop.
The results of the tests done by the NYT reportedly detected no tuna DNA in 60 inches of tuna sandwiches that were examined from three random Subway shops in Los Angeles.
According to an employee from the lab that conducted the testing, there are two possibilities for their inability to detect tuna:
Subway’s tuna is so heavily processed that it couldn’t be clearly identified
There’s no tuna

India, US to carry out two-day mega naval drill in Indian Ocean from today
Indian Naval Ships (INS) Kochi and Teg, along with P-8I and MiG-29K aircraft, will participate in a Passage Exercise with USS Ronald Reagan during its transit through Indian Ocean Region, the defence ministry said on Tuesday.
High tempo operations during the two-day exercise will include advanced air defence exercises, cross deck helicopter operations and anti-submarine exercises, said officials of the Indian Navy.
