Terming the meeting “cordial” and “positive”, People’s Conference leader Muzzafar Hussain Baig said PM Modi assured that he will do everything to make Jammu and Kashmir a zone of peace rather than conflict. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said five demands –– granting of statehood, conducting Assembly elections to restore democracy, rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in J&K, release of all political detainees and that on domicile rules – were put forward during their talks with the PM.

Moody's cuts India growth forecast to 9.6% for 2021
Ratings agency Moody’s, in a report, said that India’s growth for 2021 will fall to 9.6% from its earlier estimate of 13.9%. The second wave of the pandemic has hit the Indian economy hard in April and May. “The virus resurgence adds uncertainty to India’s growth forecast for 2021”, Moody’s said.

Google and Reliance develop a budget phone, JioPhone Next, which will be available from September 10. Its price is not confirmed yet.
RIL will invest INR 75,000 crore in its New Energy business over next 3 years, and will set up a renewable energy complex and four Giga Factories.
Jio is working on 5G trials and will collaborate with Google Cloud for solutions. This is seen as the first step towards made-in-India tech.
Trials are being conducted with Facebook for integrating JioMart and WhatsApp.
