WhatsApp scraps May 15 deadline for accepting privacy policy terms
WhatsApp has scrapped its 15 May deadline for users to accept its controversial privacy policy update and said that not accepting the terms will not lead to deletion of accounts.
WhatsApp's privacy policy is a set of terms that allow the messaging platform to keep account of, and share user data with its parent firm, Facebook. However, the policy affects WhatsApp Business accounts and not the regular WhatsApp accounts.
World Test Championship Finals Indian Squad announced
The ICC World Test Championship is the premier championship for World Test Cricket.
No big surprises in the squad; fans however expected Prithvi Shaw (after top form in the IPL recently) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (now that he is fit and available) in the team.

Underworld Don, Chhota Rajan comes back from the dead
Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje, popularly known by his moniker Chhota Rajan, served as the boss of a major crime syndicate based in Mumbai. He is serving a life sentence at Tihar Jail in New Delhi.
Chhota Rajan was admitted to AIIMS after he contracted the coronavirus infection. Rumours of his death surfaced yesterday in the afternoon.
News agency ANI, citing an AIIMS official, has however confirmed that Rajan is alive. Sources in the hospital claimed that his condition was stable.
Covid-19 third wave can still be avoided
The third wave of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic could be avoided if we took strong measures to control it, the government’s Principal Scientific Advisor Dr. K VijayRaghavan said today. “It depends much on how effectively the guidance is implemented at the local level, in the states, in districts and in the cities everywhere," Dr. VijayRaghavan said.
Earlier on Wednesday, Dr. VijayRaghavan had cautioned the country to prepare for another wave following a rise in infections. “Phase three is inevitable given the higher levels of circulating virus," he had said.
Karnataka to implement full lockdown from May 10 to May 24
The BS Yediyurappa-led Karnataka government extended the lockdown across the state till May 24. The lockdown was originally imposed from April 26 to May 12 and has been extended by two more weeks.
As per the revised guidelines, one can no longer use vehicles for takeaway. Home delivery services however will continue. As earlier, public transportation, including RTC buses and metro will continue to remain prohibited except for emergencies. Grocery shops will be allowed to function from 6 am to 10 am.
