Srinagar added to UNESCO creative cities network
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), picked Srinagar as one of the 49 cities worldwide for the UNESCO creative cities network (UCCN). Srinagar is the only Indian city added, and is the third Indian city to be part of this list after Mumbai and Hyderabad. PM Modi lauded the people of J&K for this achievement.

Wang Yaping writes history as the first Chinese woman to walk in space
Chinese astronaut Wang Yaping made history by becoming China's first woman to conduct a spacewalk. Wang and fellow astronaut Zhai Zhigang, two of the three-member team currently at China's new Tiangong space station, completed the 6.5-hour spacewalk, installing equipment and conducting testing in the wee hours of Monday morning, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).

3-shot Zydus vaccine to cost INR 358 a dose
An order for 1 crore doses of Zydus Cadila's 3-dose COVID-19 vaccine, ZyCoV-D, has been placed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at INR 358 per dose, exclusive of GST. The government aims to start distributing the vaccine by December, once supplies start coming in. ZyCoV-D, the world's first DNA vaccine, will be given on day zero, day 28 and day 56.

Travis Scott and Drake sued over deadly US festival crush
US rapper Travis Scott faces multiple lawsuits, after at least 8 people were killed and hundreds wounded in a crush at his Texas festival Astroworld. Scott has said he is working to aid the victims' families - the youngest is just 14. The rush began at about 21:15 local time on Friday (02:15 GMT Saturday), when panic broke out as the crowd pushed towards the front of the stage during Scott's headline set. Neither he nor Drake has commented on the case.

PM Modi took to Twitter on Tuesday to greet the people of Uttarakhand, which attained statehood on November 9, 2000, when it was carved out of the northwestern region of Uttar Pradesh. Government waits for Covaxin nod to begin inoculating children
The Government of India has said that children may have to wait for some more time to get vaccinated against COVID-19, which will start only after Bharat Biotech's Covaxin is approved for use. The government is concerned that ZyCoV-D, a three-dose vaccine given emergency use authorisation (EUA) for children between 12 and 17 years, may not be sufficient to inoculate children.
