BJP wins Tripura civic polls
BJP was victorious in the Tripura civic polls by a huge margin, winning all 14 urban bodies, which went to polls on November 25. It won all seats in 11 urban bodies, including Agartala Municipal Corporation. Of the total 324 municipal seats in the state, the BJP won 112 seats uncontested and emerged victorious in the remaining 217. Of the other seats, 3 were won by CPM, 1 by TMC and the other by TIPRA.

Jio raises prepaid rates by 20%
After Vodafone Idea (VI) and Bharti Airtel raised the charges for the prepaid services, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd had decided to follow suit to increase tariff rates effective December 2021 by 20%. All three telecom giants have announced the hiking of prices within a week of each other, with Airtel and Vodafone Idea raising the price by 25% each.

30% of Indian women say husbands beating their wives is okay
A National Family Health Survey report revealed that at least 30% of women across 14 states and Union Territories justified women getting beaten by their husbands. Some of these are Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Manipur, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra etc. The most common instance justifying this answer is not cooking good food, neglecting the house, and suspicion of being unfaithful.

November has been the most polluted month this year
On Saturday, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) stated that the air quality index rose to severe levels on the scale (402) for the 11th day this month. This broke the record of 10 dangerous air days in November 2016. They also stated that Delhi had not had a single day where the air quality was of a moderate level. Experts have said this could have happened because of the late withdrawal of monsoon and delay in the burning of stubble in North Indian states.

Shreyas Iyer created history on Sunday by becoming the only Indian player to score a century and fifty on test debut. Iyer top-scored with a 105 in the first innings and led the recovery from 51/5 in India's second innings with a fighting 65. India has set a total of 284 for New Zealand to chase in the fourth innings.

Paytm reports a loss of INR 461 crores for Q2
One97 Communications confirmed that the digital payments company reported a loss of Rs. 461 crore for the quarter ending in September 2021. The company reported a loss of Rs. 394 crore for Quarter 1 that ended in June 2021. This comes right after Paytm listed itself at a discount to issue price after opening the largest Initial Public Offering.
