Rohit Shetty's blockbuster film Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, has become the first Bollywood film to cross INR 100 crores in almost 2 years after 'Tanhaji'. It has collected INR 102.81 crores in India and crossed INR 150 crores worldwide within 5 days of its release. Sooryavanshi makes Rohit Shetty the only Indian director to have nine consecutive INR 100 crore films.

World finds its first patient diagnosed with climate change
In an uncanny case, a 70-year-old woman from British Colombia, Canada, was diagnosed with “climate change” by Dr. Kyle Merrit, after she reported breathing problems. She is the first patient to suffer from the direct effects of climate change. The woman was diagnosed after a heatwave by her doctors, who said her problems were caused by poor air quality and heatwaves.

General Electric to split into 3 companies
General Electric announced that it would split into 3 companies listed on the stock exchange - specialising in aviation, healthcare and energy. It will combine GE Renewable Energy, GE Power and GE Digital into one company and launch its healthcare division in early 2023. The leading company will focus on the aviation business; GE stock jumped nearly 11% to USD 120.

China building helipads near Char Dham road
During a hearing at the Supreme Court against the widening of the Char Dham roads, the centre claimed that the widening was important because of the chinese troop build-up on the other side and that this was required due to strategic importance. It was said against an appeal by an NGO not to widen the road as it would result in environmental damage.

India has a pact with 96 countries for vaccine certificate recognition
On Tuesday, health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that India has a pact with 96 countries - including the US, UK, many European and Middle East nations - for mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccine certification, giving a big boost to international travel. He added that the government continues to be in communication with more countries.

Delhi govt to take measures to control Yamuna toxic foam
Visuals have emerged to show how the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is in the process of controlling toxic foam in the Yamuna River, as it sees a surge of devotees during Chhath Puja. Barricades were seen being placed in the Yamuna to stop the toxic foam from floating towards the ghat. Water was also sprinkled in the river and with 15 boats deployed to try and dissipate the toxic foam.

Aadhaar's verification can now be done offline
According to new rules published by the government, Indians can now get their Aadhaar verification done offline by sharing a digitally-signed document generated by the Unique Identity Authority of India. Posted on the official website on November 9, 2021, The Aadhaar (Authentication and Offline Verification) Regulations 2021 have laid down a detailed process to enable offline verification.
