Supreme Court rejects door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination plea
The Supreme Court shot down a plea directing the government to embark on an immediate door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination policy. The Supreme Court claimed that such pleas were a product of ignorance about the diversity of the country and the complexity of its governance.

AUS-AFG test match in doubt as Taliban bans women's cricket
Australia was supposed to host its first-ever test match against Afghanistan on November 27, 2021. The planning was in full swing until the Taliban's cultural minister stated in an interview that Afghan women would not be allowed to participate in sports because it's 'not necessary.' Currently, the test is in massive doubt as the decision goes against the ICC and Cricket Australia's inclusion policy and growing women's cricket.

Section 144 imposed in Mumbai till September 19, 2021
Amidst rising COVID cases and ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Mumbai police has put Section 144 of the CrPC in place. There will not be any processions, and the complete darshan has been moved online. Not more than 5 people will be allowed to gather at a site. People partaking in the procession will have to be fully vaccinated and need to have completed the 15-day observation period after Dose-2.

BCCI chief admits, "Don't know if match will happen"
India's fifth and final test match against England stands uncertain as a support staff member of the Indian Cricket Team tests COVID positive. "We don't know if the match will happen at the moment. Hopefully, we can get some game", Ganguly said at a book launch event in Kolkata. If the match goes ahead, India currently leads the test by 2-1 and needs only a draw to emerge victoriously.

Deadline to file Income Tax Returns extended to December 31, 2021
The deadline for filing Income Tax returns has been extended to December 31, 2021, the government announced on Thursday amidst the coronavirus pandemic and persistent technical problems with its website. Usually due by the end of July, the date was extended till September 30, 2020, last time in May in the light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ford Motor to cease production in India

Rajnath, Gadkari inaugurate emergency landing field on NH925
Union Ministers Rajnath Singh & Nitin Gadkari inaugurated an emergency landing strip on NH925 in Barmer, Rajasthan on Thursday for Indian Air Force (IAF) planes.
A Hercules C-130J plane of the IAF, carrying the two Ministers and Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat, conducted a mock emergency landing on the NH. NH-925 is India's first national highway to be used for emergency landing of an IAF aircraft.
