Afghan women to be banned from playing sport, Taliban say
Afghan women, including the country’s women’s cricket team, will be banned from playing sport under the new Taliban government. The deputy head of the Taliban’s cultural commission said women’s sport was considered neither appropriate nor necessary. Additionally, he said in cricket, they might face a situation where their face and body will not be covered and Islam does not allow women to be seen like this.

Bitcoin crashes on first day as El Salvador’s legal tender
Angry protests, technological glitches and a plummet in value marked the first day of El Salvador adopting Bitcoin as legal tender. The price of Bitcoin crashed to its lowest in nearly a month, falling from $52,000 (£37,730) to under $43,000 at one point. More than 1,000 protesters, who feared Bitcoin’s adoption, gathered outside the country's supreme court, where fireworks were set off and tyres were burnt.

COVID-19 jab for children from next month
The country’s top paediatricians will review international data on children vaccinated against COVID-19 to present evidence, risk of mortality, risk of severity and the risk-benefit ratio and present it to the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) early next week. In India, children of 12 and above with underlying medical conditions are likely to be vaccinated first, while healthy ones are unlikely to get jabs this year.

Women will be admitted to NDA: Centre to Supreme Court

Increase in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Rabi crops
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the highest increase of Rs. 400/quintal in prices of mustard and masur. Both the prices of mustard (Rs. 5050/quintal) and masur (Rs.5500/quintal) have hit their historic high levels due to production shortages.

Axis Bank has announced its 'ComeAsYouAre' charter of policies and practices for the LGBTQIA+ community, as part of efforts to encourage "diversity, equity and inclusion" in its work environment. Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund named the new Afghanistan PM
Mullah Hassan, who is one of the co-founders of Taliban, will be the acting PM of Afghanistan. The announcement of the new government comes 7 days after the last US troops left Afghanistan on August 31st. In the new government, almost all top posts have been given to those Taliban personalities who dominated the 20-year battle against the US-led coalition and its Afghan government allies.
