Centre removes spending curbs on ministries and departments
The Finance Ministry has removed spending limits on ministries and departments, allowing them to spend according to their budget estimates for the rest of the fiscal year. The decision was due to a boost in the Government's tax revenues, running ahead of their budgeted targets. 20% of the budget estimate was restricted for more than 80 departments out of a total of 101.

She has been a leading voice in the women's movement in India and other South Asian countries. She founded the feminist network 'Sangat' to help underprivileged women from rural and tribal communities. She has authored several books on gender theory, feminism and understanding of patriarchy.

Chennai Central railway station now fully powered by solar energy
All the electricity needs of the Chennai Central railway station are met by solar power. The solar panels are installed on platform shelters of the station and have a capacity of 1.5MW. They have also been installed at various other locations. Southern railways generated a savings of INR 16.64 Crores from renewable energy sources during 2019-20.

IFS officer Sneha Dubey gives a fiery response to Imran Khan
Imran Khan was met with a sharp response by young diplomat Sneha Dubey, as he brought up the issue of Kashmir and the decision to abrogate Article 370 in his address to the UN General Assembly. India responded by saying that Pakistan, where terrorists enjoy free pass, is an "arsonist" disguising itself as a "fire-fighter". Sneha Dubey is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officer of 2012 batch.

Cyclone Gulab to hit south Odisha and Andhra Pradesh on Sunday eve
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), on Saturday evening, said that Cyclone Gulab has taken form in the Bay of Bengal. As per satellite observations at 5.30 pm, the cyclone was located over northwest Bay of Bengal - 370 km east-southeast of Gopalpur in Odisha and 440 km east of Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. This is the third cyclone of 2021 after Tauktae and Yaas that had formed in May this year.

World’s highest public EV charging station inaugurated in Spiti valley
A Pune-based EV charging infrastructure company has installed two electric vehicle chargers for two-wheelers and four-wheelers at Kaza in the Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh. It is the world's highest EV charging station situated at an altitude of 3,800 m. The facility is located at Hotel Dayzor and is ready to charge all EV two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

India rejects China's claim on the Galwan valley incident
On Friday, September 24, 2021, India rejected China's claim that the incident in Galwan valley occurred due to India's infringement on Chinese territory, violating all agreements. MEA' spokesperson said, "It was the provocative behaviour of the Chinese side to alter the status quo in contravention of all our bilateral agreements that resulted in serious disturbance of peace and tranquillity."
