Olympic village tests first Covid case 6 days before Tokyo games
Tokyo 2020 CEO Toshiro Muto confirmed on Saturday that a visitor from abroad who is involved in organising the Games had tested positive. He would not reveal the person’s nationality, citing privacy concerns. The chief organiser of the 2020 Games says officials are ‘doing everything’ to prevent outbreaks ahead of the opening.

The UN Child Rights Committee says that children are exposed to indiscriminate violence, random shootings and arbitrary arrests under the military government. Dozens of children have been killed and hundreds arbitrarily detained in Myanmar since a coup more than five months ago as the political turmoil in the country continues amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pakistani fighters, Taliban instructed to target Indian assets in Afghanistan
Pakistani intelligence agency ISI has directed its fighters and Taliban to target buildings and infrastructure built by India, over the last 20 years, in war-torn Afghanistan.
“A large number of Pakistani fighters have joined the fight inside Afghanistan against the government there and supporting the Taliban. They have entered the arena with instructions to target Indian assets and buildings,” according to government sources.
